JASON HARTLESS – Reactive drummer/music mogul Sound City Music Group Inc.; Releases en route from TED NUGENT, THE SWEET, etc.

Jason Hartless, 27, has been an in-demand drummer in the music world for a number of years. He started touring at the tender age of 11 and at 14, having yet to see a day of high school, he became a hired gun drummer for one of the opening acts of the Crue tour. Fest 2 by Mötley Crüe which criss-crossed the United States. summer of 2009. He was recruited at age 20 by fellow Detroit native Ted Nugent and has been his go-to drummer for all Nugent-related work ever since. Jason and Nugent just wrapped up Detroit Muscle US’ sold-out summer tour. While working with Nugent, Jason has also toured and/or recorded with other artists such as Sponge, Joe Lynn Turner (Deep Purple, Rainbow), Tantric, Mitch Ryder, Pop Evil and Insane Clown Posse. Jason will be going this fall to the drums of Eric Martin (Mr Big).

On September 17, Jason reactivated the long-time family business, Sound City Music Group Inc., where he will serve as Managing Partner and Head of Product Development. After working for 6 years in the same position at Prudential Music Group and enjoying great success, Sound City will relaunch with exciting releases from The Sweet, Ted Nugent, Missing Persons, Steeler, Sparks and many more fan favorites . Releases also include all forms of music media, band merchandise and publishing services.

Jason and Sound City has teamed up with legendary guitarist, songwriter and founding member of The Sweet, Andy Scott and his boss, the legendary Ted Nugent to bring fans around the world an incredible amount of their music and merchandise ever went out. Sound City is a subsidiary of Sony Music / Orchard.

“I wanted to take something that my parents worked many years to build, even before I was born. With the strong relationships we have in the music industry, I wanted to resurrect a concept/label that my dad started in his years as a working musician. I’ve had the name Sound City in my house all my life and when the opportunity arose for me to go it alone, I grabbed it and ran I was raised to honor my commitments, embrace loyalty and be ethical in doing business, so I will stay with Prudential for as long as I need or until their latest product involves me. September 17, 2022 sees the relaunch of Sound City Music Group Inc. .with my family.As I said earlier, throughout touring with Ted all summer, I worked 2 full-time jobs, it seems,” says Jason.

He adds: “But, I’m very excited for everyone to see what Sound City has planned, so many exciting things, including more of my partnerships with Andy Scott from Sweet and my boss Ted Nugent, so many more great things. Of course the end of 2022 and 2023 is going to be an amazing year for us in terms of products and releases, I can’t wait to share with everyone everything we have in production, but until I can tell everyone, I’m just going to keep my mouth shut for now (Laughs).”
